We grill xorovats at Happy Hollow Park, screen Armenian films in Rawls, and play pickleball on the weeks nobody feels like cooking. Come whether or not you're Armenian.

About us
Why the club exists
At Purdue you could go your whole four years without meeting a single Armenian. There are not many of us in West Lafayette, and the club is how we find each other.
No application, no dues, and no need to be Armenian. We speak English and Armenian together, and undergrads, grad students and people from around Lafayette all end up at the same cookouts. You can join here.
Officially we're the Armenian Club of Purdue on BoilerLink. On Instagram we post as Purdue ASA. Same group, same grill.
What we do
Six things on the calendar
The lineup shifts with whoever is running the grill, but it keeps landing in these six places.

Xorovats
The big one, once each spring. Happy Hollow Park, Shelter East, 4:00 PM until sundown. Grills, charcoal and the meat are covered. Bring a folding chair, and a few dollars toward groceries if the invite asks for it.

April 24
Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, marked every year. In 2026 it was a screening of My Sweet Land in Rawls 1057 at 6:30 PM. Open to anyone, no background in the history needed.

Heritage Month
Programming through Armenian Heritage Month in April, including tabling next to the other cultural orgs. This is the easiest week to find us in person without planning anything.

Pickleball nights
Courts are booked in advance and spare paddles get passed around, so you can turn up with nothing. No skill level assumed. The lowest-commitment way to meet people before a whole cookout.

Send-offs
Each May the graduating members get posted one at a time on the account, and get fed once more before they leave West Lafayette.

Study sessions
Every week, the steadiest thing on the calendar. Bring whatever you are behind on, work next to people for a couple of hours, and take the break when someone calls it. The room gets posted in the GroupMe.

How to join
No application and no dues to settle before your first event. Get in the GroupMe, follow the account, and turn up to whatever comes next. If you would rather ask a person first, the officers' emails are below.

For questions the group chat cannot answer: collaborations, tabling, press, or joining the board.

Questions
Before you ask
Do I have to be Armenian?
No. A good share of the room isn't Armenian. Interest in the culture is the whole requirement.
Do I need to speak Armenian?
No. Everything runs in English.
Are there dues?
Showing up costs nothing. Some cookouts ask for a few dollars toward groceries, and we say so in the invite.
I'm a grad student, staff, or not a student at all.
Undergrads, grads, and Armenians from around Lafayette all end up at the same cookouts. Join the GroupMe and you'll see the invites.
How do I help run things?
